Fantastic that so many are joining this! First stage coming up in about 12 hours +-

Did the report on this race last year which might be a small advantage but then we changed version so it probably isn't.

1) 75

2) 1

3) Anderberg, Pedersen should be favorite but he is a little prone to early attacks and this race does not reward that.

4) Yes, 1

5) Girmay

6) 0

7) Tinkoff

8) Kasperkiewicz

9) Yes

10) Per

Tiebreak question:

Tiebreak question if anyone ends up on the same total sum: Where will mangame legend (?) Guillaume Van Keirsbulck end up in the GC? Closest wins any tiebreak 67th

Extra bonus: How many Minions will finish the race? 8 no minion left behind

Honestly not expecting much our of this, just hoping to get mentioned in the reports and avoid a 0 pointer.

Thanks for the awesome preview! And a fun way to spice things up.

Hoping for the best from Per here. Can't really go better than last year, but can go a whole lot worse. So we'll see! It's an especially big race with stage race points, and winning it last year was a huge boon for us. Depth would be great too.

1) 105
2) 6
3) Pedersen
4) Yes - 1
5) Girmay
6) 6
7) Grieg
8) Gerts
9) No
10) Pedersen

Not too excited seeing we don't even make the list, but have good memories of this race with Havik's victory in 2020.

Cool initiative Heine, I'll give it a go as well:

I love David Per. And he loves this race. I thought I had a reason to worry coming in and especially after his late move only got a small gap initially, but he outdid himself again. That massive flat state seemed to be a huge factor. Seeing him just pull away from a peloton with way more manpower than him is so satisfying. Obviously some worry early on when he missed the split, but I think we've seen several cobbles leaders in that position this season, and the big ones almost always come back, so I tried not to panic too much. Senechal came back to attack too, and Siric, etc made it back.

Taking the stage, all eligible jerseys, and a gap on most other contenders is obviously an ideal start for us. Also awesome to have most of our domestiques make the front group for some potential depth points later, which are more generous since it's a stage race instead of a classic. Of course, on the other hand, it's not nearly as good as a classic win, so still a lot to do.

Obviously very worried about tomorrow, having heard about the obvious carnage in that last stretch of cobbles. Hoping that Per has a good day form wise and that the AI handles him in yellow properly. Also hoping cobbles stat ends up mattering more than pure stamina given that the stage itself is quite short, but just brutal in terms of the surface. Wish we had been able to get a gap to Senechal and Anderberg there because those are guys I'm particularly worried about in the the latter scenario, but I guess it will probably be huge gaps that negate any time differences from today anyway.

Thanks for the great report!

Congrats bbl, Per seems to be the strongest cobbler of the season so far! And maybe Zepuntke will someday (tomorrow?) be able to recover from a split in the same way ...

Agreed. Worth all the money for his transfer. Congrats bbl.

Kuroeda as been a disappointment, after all the time spent into bringing him in. Having Kooistra, Schreurs and Joung in the first group is a relief though. The latter seconding Girmay in the white jersey competition is a great result for this stage.

Great report Heine. Glad to know the riders are informed they live in a crashless world. Always wondered if that was kept from them.

Better than E3 for Gerts I guess, but tomorrow will be the real big test. Hopefully Van den Berg can carry on today's form into the queen stage as well.

That is a very, very positive surprise of a start Shock Grin Amazing by Anderberg to both try early aggression, but also have enough for that final attack closing the gap to Per and get rewarded with a nice buffer and a very good GC placing before the Queen stage. That should definitely help for positioning and AI decisions in key moments tomorrow, I hope.

Congratulations, bbl! I don’t understand how Per manages to be this consistent top class so far on the cobbles with this slightly less selective PCM edition. If you stick to Per in whatever cobbled race there is, you know you are in a good place. Fingers crossed Anderberg manages it tomorrow as well!

A little update on the quiz

Noone had question 1 right (3)
Knockout was the only one with Polanc on 8
Many managers was right on rain, knockout among those.

Thus knockout leads with 2 points til now

Other questions not decided yet, but with some indications
Per leads the GC (KB, alex, Marco, Whitejersey, and Eden got that one)
Girmay leads youth (everyone except Buchwackers got that one)
Per leads points (redordead, Marco, Whitejersey and Ulrich got that one)
Aker leads the team standings (Noone has that one)

So, can anyone beat knockout on the last stage?

And btw, GVK finished 70th, Ollfardh closes with his 69)

The stage will either come early tomorrow or late, I'm away from 10 to 15 CET at least so depends if I turn on the computer before 10

knockout
Turned out to be a rather unimportant stage for us. My depth cobblers got dropped which is unfortunate but expected for tomorrow anyway. No seperate behind the top 3 so we dont know where the Ovsya Neilands duo stands. Would have loved a proper sprint from that group but unfortunately not the case. Fingers crossed we get a good stage two even if i expect it to be slightly too selective for my rider's stregnths...

PS: Always bet on Polanc! Cool

Nice!

Gamper going for a useless 4th here, let's see what happens tomorrow.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.
