We really miss Lutsenko in these types of races.
It's fascinating; Aleotti's current stat combination seems to put him in some kind of AI cul de sac that makes him passive peloton filler. He often loses minutes on terrain that perfectly suits him because he doesn't care about avoiding splits.
That KoM campaign by Peters was cool though! And Malecki did a good job in GC. Those two saved this race for us somewhat.
Congrats ryant! And great job with the reports Heine!

Congrats to ryant and jandal! Two fitting riders at the top for this terrain.
For us, Aranburu's 7th place on the stage gets him a top 10 on GC, which we can only be considered a success given our expectations. His sprint and acceleration kept him out of the top few places, but it looks like his resistance is at least still valuable in keeping him attentive on some of these shorter stage with a good amount of up and down. No depth points either, but we'll take what we can get. At least he didn't fall back with Rodenberg.
Very strange to see some of the same guys I would have expected to compete for a win here fall off unceremoniously in splits. Commiserations to those managers.
Thanks for the reports Heine!

Damn MVD went 2 better! Fantastic 3rd on the stage. He has been a breath of fresh air for us so far.

MVD pulling out another great result in a stacked field! Those bonus seconds would've been quite useful but can't complain at all with 4th.
You’re in for a positive surprise if you check the GC list, then!
I did see that but was waiting for the last stage before getting too excited. I think I can now I think i put Top 20/25 as the expectation from this race with the expected startlist. 5th is way above that, along with two in the 30s and the U25 jersey, not to forget the stage performances. This was a great result for us.
Congrats to ryant and thanks for the reports Heine!

Im completely fine with a 7th place by Lopez on this route. He tried his luck on the second day, looked fairly strong here, i can live with this. A bit annoyed by his positioning in the final today bit thats not a huge issue to complain about.
However, im quite furious about my domestiques. We had three more guys in the front group who dropped out of there in the final two kilometers. Calmejane would have finished top 15 gc due to bonus seconds earlier on the stage and adria would have been high in gc as well. Them dropping feels quite unnecessary and hurts a lot.
Huge race for a lot of the teams that were on the risk of dropping into the relegation fight. Yates, Pidcock, Demare, Ackermann, Van Dijk is such a cool top 5 group in terms of riders too. I like it
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Wherever and whenever we need Yates, he always seems to deliver and baring the almost disaster on stage 2, we did what we had to and won almost everything there was to win here, minus the last stage.
Can't be mad at all with how this race has gone and it's always nice to complete a goal along the way as well! Thanks for the reports!

Ackermann gave another demonstration on how to botch 'winnable' sprints. 4th in GC is good, but he can't afford any more bad races to avoid a terrible season. He seems like a one race rider. Not sure how we came away with the team classification, but we'll take all depth points we can take. God knows there won't be many this season.
Thanks for the reports.

Just not good enough to really do something. Hoping that Mads P could survive was probably a bit naive, but didn't really have any other great fits for his last race days. Abrahamsen good on the second stage, but disappointing to see him dropped on the third.
Thanks for the reports, Heine!

Good to see the punchy sprinters do well in this race I think. A shame Higuita wasn't really considered to at least try be the AI for the second race in a row. But also tactical to not score too much in our tanking season. El Genio de Colombia.
Thanks for the great reports, Heine!
